Waikiki Banyan - Recreation Deck Renovation

Allied Builders completed a full renovation of the Waikiki Banyan’s expansive 6th-floor pool deck and recreation area, one of the largest elevated recreation decks in Waikiki. The scope included new spa platforms, upgraded recreation amenities, improved drainage and plumbing, fencing, lighting, BBQ areas, landscaping, and spall repairs at the garage levels below.

A key focus of the project was managing approximately 36,000 square feet of fluid-applied waterproofing installed using a seven-step system. This required Allied Builders to plan the work in advance so that all preparatory work, structural modifications, drainage and slope coordination, substrate preparation, and interface detailing were completed and verified before waterproofing began. The process required disciplined sequencing, advanced logistics planning, and coordination of specialized materials sourced from Canada and Germany.

Using in-house 3D scanning and modeling resources, Allied Builders evaluated existing conditions, identified conflicts early, and supported efficient coordination across trades and consultants, helping deliver a recreation deck renovation that reflects careful planning and technical expertise.
